For the fifth year, Tribal Art Fair (TAF) is holding an online edition, which is free to view and can be found at www.tribalartfair.nl/onlinefair. This Spring’s edition is scheduled to take place from Thursday 25 April at 3 p.m. until Monday 29 April 2024 at 10 p.m. (Dutch CEST time).

An established and important international event with art and artefacts from Africa, Oceania and Asia, the physical TAF (www.tribalartfair.nl) is held in Amsterdam at the end of October each year and has amassed an impressive following of collectors, dealers, museum curators, interior designers and discerning members of the public. The online edition opens up the fair and its exhibitors to a worldwide audience.

This Spring 2024, some 15 galleries are showing up to 50 of their latest acquisitions. As items sell, each dealer will refresh their stock for sale online by adding up to another 10 pieces on Saturday 27 April. The four Dutch galleries participating are joined by experts from the UK, Spain, Germany and Belgium.

As well as selling authentic masks, shields, statues, textiles, jewellery and utensils, TAF is renowned for hosting an inspiring lecture programme, which can of course also be followed online. Michael Martin will give a lecture about his recently published book about the Seaman collection of New Guinea Art, Chris Buckley tells about the art of the Dani and David Malik will give a lecture about Masquerades in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The complete lecture program will be available from the beginning of April on the website of the online fair.
